Baked Fish is a 1944 American animated short film directed by James Culhane .
action
Andy Panda buys a small fish in a pet shop, which he now carries home in a fishbowl on his head. On the way, both meet a hungry black cat who initially catches the fish unnoticed for Andy Panda and wants to eat it. The fish can escape. The second time it tries to catch, the fish bites the cat's finger.
The cat dresses up with a pith helmet and shorts and pretends to die of thirst. Andy Panda gives her some of the water in the fishbowl, but to the displeasure of the cat, the fish is always out of reach. In the end, the cat has enough: She tells Andy Panda that she is hungry and he is a fish and that the hunger problem could be solved so easily. The cat takes the fishbowl and pushes Andy Panda away. The fish can initially escape into the sewer system, but ends up in the cat's frying pan a little later. Horrified, the fish dares a giant leap back to Andy Panda and into the goldfish bowl at home. The chase comes with the cat and Andy Panda hurries back to the pet shop. The cat wants to hit Andy Panda and the fish with a club. She changes her mind when they both come out of the pet store with a newly acquired giant bulldog . The cat tries to flee, but keeps running against various objects until it has finally gone mad.
