Georg Ludwig Agricola
Georg Ludwig Agricola (born October 25, 1643 in Großfurra , † February 20, 1676 in Gotha ) was a German composer and conductor .
Life
Agricola was born in Großfurra near Sondershausen . After attending grammar schools in Eisenach and Gotha, he matriculated at Leipzig University . From there he moved to the University of Wittenberg to complete his degree in theology as a master’s degree. In 1670 he succeeded Wolfgang Carl Briegel as court conductor in Gotha. After his death, Wolfgang Michael Mylius succeeded him in this office.
