Georgi Georgiev ( Bulgarian Георги Георгиев ; born October 20, 1987 ) is a Bulgarian ski racer .

biography

His first FIS race denied Georgiev in January 2003. In 2006 he took part in the Junior World Championships in the Canadian province of Quebec and reached the slalom as the best Bulgarian 19th place. A year later, at the 2007 Junior World Championships in Altenmarkt, he was also the best in his country, finishing in 24th slalom rank. In March 2008 he took part in the European Cup for the first time . In the two downhill runs from Bansko , he finished 29th and 32nd, which are also his best European Cup results so far. Shortly afterwards, he won his first FIS race and became Bulgarian giant slalom champion in early April.

Georgiev made his first start in the World Cup on December 12th, 2008. In the super combination of Val-d'Isère , he got his first points with 21st place, but only a few more points followed in the next few years. In February 2009 he took part in the World Cup, but did not get beyond the 40th place in the Super-G. Two years later in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, he placed 11th in the super combined.
