The judicial district Polna ( Czech : soudní okres Polná ) was a judicial district subordinate to the district court Polna in the crown land of Bohemia . It comprised areas in the transition area from Central Bohemia to South Bohemia in the Okres Jihlava and in the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . The center of the judicial district was the city of Polna (Polná). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1991 .

history

The original patrimonial jurisdiction was abolished in the Austrian Empire after the revolutionary years of 1848/49 . They were replaced by the district, regional and higher regional courts, which were planned according to the principles of the Minister of Justice and whose creation was approved by Emperor Franz Joseph I on July 6, 1849 . The judicial district of Polna initially belonged to the Časlau district and in 1854 comprised the 42 cadastral communities Altenberg, Altpfauendorf, Bergersdorf, Bosowitz, Briskau, Deutsch-Gießhübel, Deutsch-Schützendorf, Dobrenz, Dobrikau, Ebersdorf, Hilbersdorf, Höfen, Hrbow, Irschings, Janowic, Jesau, Kleinwěžnic, Lukau, Mukenbrunn, Neuhof, Oberwěžnic, Petrowic, Pfaffendorf, Podeschin, Polna, Preitenhof, Raunek, Schachersdorf, Schlappens, Stepens, Seelens, Simmersdorf, Sirakow, Skreyschow, Smilau, Steindorf, Steken, Unterwěžnic, Walddörfel, Waldhof Zaborna.

The judicial district Polna formed in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868 together with the judicial district Přibyslau (Přibyslav) the Polna district .

In 1878 the Stecken judicial district was split off from the Polna judicial district, causing the Polna judicial district to lose large areas and population. Overall, with the communities Bergersdorf (Kamenná u Jihlavy), Dobrenz (Dobronín), Ebersdorf (Hybrálec), Deutsch-Gießhübel (Německá Vyskytná), Friedrichsdorf (Bedřichov), Hilbersdorf (Heroltice), Irschings (Jiřín), Neuhof (Nové Dvory) , Petrowitz , Schlappenz (Šlapanov), Stepens , Deutsch-Schützendorf (Střelecká), Seelenz (Ždírec), Simmersdorf , Smilau , Steindorf (Hubenov), Stecken (Štoky), Unterwěžnitz and Waldhof (Zborná) 19 municipalities left the judicial district of Polna, whereby the predominantly German-speaking communities fell to the judicial district of Stecken. On April 1, 1879, the communities Rischkau, Rosička and Spinov were separated from the judicial district of Pribislau and added to the judicial district of Polna.

With the establishment of the Royal Vineyards District, the Polna District was dissolved. While the judicial district of Polna was added to the district commission of Deutschbrod , the judicial district of Přibyslau came to the district of Chotěboř, with this change becoming legally effective on October 1, 1884.

In the judicial district of Polna there were 19,647 people in 1869, compared with 9,142 in 1900.

The judicial district of Polna had a population of 8,720 in 1910, of which 11 stated German and 8,708 Czech as the colloquial language. There was also a foreign language or foreign person living in the judicial district.

Due to the border regulations of the Treaty of Saint-Germain , which was concluded on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district of Polna came completely to the newly founded Czechoslovakia , with the court division essentially remaining in place until 1938. After the Munich Agreement and the invasion of German troops, the area was added to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia .

After the Second World War, the area became part of the Okres Jihlava and the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou , to which it still belongs to this day. After the district authorities lost their administrative competences in the course of an administrative reform in 2003, these are taken over by the municipalities or Kraj Vysočina , to which the area around Polná was combined with other districts since the beginning of the 21st century.
