George Pierce "Gerry" Geran (born February 22, 1895 in Holyoke , Massachusetts , † September 8, 1981 in Brooklyn , New York ) was an American ice hockey player . He played on the position of the Center .

Career

At the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp , he won the silver medal in the Olympic ice hockey tournament with the US national team , which was made up of players from St. Paul AC , Pittsburgh AA and Boston AA . In the NHL he played in the 1917/18 season for the Montreal Wanderers and in the 1925/26 season for the Boston Bruins . Geran was the first American to ever stand on the ice in an NHL game. In their debut season, all of the other NHL players were from Canada . In the 1921/22 season he won the French championship with the Club des Patineurs de Paris .
