Giovanni Maria Flick

Giovanni Maria Flick (born November 7, 1940 in Cirié ) is an Italian lawyer and politician .

In 1962 Flick finished his law studies at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan . Before he was appointed constitutional judge in 2000, Flick had been a full professor of criminal law at LUISS Guido Carli in Rome and Minister of Justice in Romano Prodi's first cabinet since 1980 .

From November 14, 2008 to February 18, 2009 he was President of the Italian Constitutional Court . He had previously been Vice President of the court under his predecessor Franco Bile .
