Gisela Ehrensperger b. Gisela Heuzeroth (born August 10, 1943 in Wiesbaden ) is a Swiss opera / operetta / musical singer ( soprano ). She was a permanent member of the ensemble of the State Theater on Gärtnerplatz for 40 years .

Life

The singer was a student of the singing teacher Sofia Husi. She began her first engagement in 1965 at the State Theater in St. Gallen / Switzerland, where she made her debut in the role of Musetta in La Bohème . Two years later the soprano was engaged by Kurt Pscherer at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. During 40 years of stage activity, she performed large roles (around 150) in a wide variety of eras and genres: Mimi in Puccini's La Bohème , Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte , Micaela in Bizet's Carmen , Antonia in Hoffmann's stories , the Marschallin von Luxemburg in Die Dubarry , the Agricola in One Night in Venice , the Palmyra in The Opera Ball , the Praskowia in The Merry Widow , the Wilhelmine in Der Vetter aus Dingsda , to name just a few of the many.

Gisela Ehrensperger sang the aging folk music singer Margot at the Theater am Gärtnerplatz in the world premiere of the new version of the short operetta Die Länd-Queen Sees Morgenrot (February 1, 1997), music and text by Georg Ringsgwandl , and also in the world premiere of the opera Rules of Life (August 27, 1972 ) by Gerhard Wimberger and on Radio Zurich in the world premiere of the opera Der Alchimist (1969) by Max Lang . Television and radio versions were recorded of the last two productions mentioned.

The artist was also seen in several musicals. So she embodied z. For example, at the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel (2005) Golde, the wife of the milkman Tevje, in Anatevka or in the Theater am Gärtnerplatz (1981) Mary Ann in the musical Casanova by Helmut Bez and Jürgen Degenhardt .

With the last performance of the operetta Gräfin Mariza in the 2006/2007 season on June 16, 2007, the icon of the house said goodbye to its Munich audience. Gisela Ehrensperger is an honorary member of the State Theater on Gärtnerplatz.

In the 2007/2008 season, the artist made guest appearances at the Graz Opera House as the princess in the operetta Countess Mariza, and in this role again demonstrated her still unbroken enthusiasm for the operetta.

In the 2012/2013 season of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, Gisela Ehrensperger took on the role of Fräulein Schneider in the musical Cabaret.
