The Glattalphütte is a mountain hut owned by the Mythen section of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC).
Location and surroundings
It is located at 1896 m above sea level. M. on the Glattalp near the Glattalpsee in the Schwyz Alps in the canton of Schwyz above the village of Bisisthal in the municipality of Muotathal .
history
The hut was built in 1927 with 30 places and in 1971 it was enlarged by about half.
ways
Approach
- From the mountain station of the Sahli – Glattalp cable car in five minutes with level T1 on the SAC hiking scale .
- From Bisisthal in three hours at level T2.
- From Schwarzenbach (municipality of Muotathal ) in four hours, difficulty level T2.
- From Braunwald GL in five and a half hours, difficulty level T2.
Mountaineering
- Ortstock , 2717 m above sea level M .: To the summit in three and a half hours.
- Höch tower , 2666 m above sea level M .: From the Glattalphütte an alpine hike of difficulty T6 leads in four to five hours over the west ridge to the summit.
