The bell tower in Kraupa is a monument that is located in the small town of Elsterwerda in the Elbe-Elster district in southern Brandenburg .

Description and history

The Kraupa bell tower can be found on the old village green of the Kraupa district, which was first mentioned in a document in 1398 . The building is an octagonal red brick building with a wooden lantern and a tent roof , which is crowned by a weather vane. It is recorded in the local monument register under registration number 09135508.

The bell tower of the Kraupa district was originally made of wood. It is not known exactly when it was built in its current form. In 1893 it was redesigned in stone. The consecration of bells took place on December 7, 1852.
