Gottfried Hermann Graf von Beichlingen (* 1638 ; † 1703 ) was Electoral Saxon Privy Councilor and President of the Senior Consistory and Senior Court Judge in Leipzig .

Life

Emperor Leopold I confirmed, confirmed and renewed for ever on November 16, 1700 in Vienna the count status of Gottfried Hermann von Beichlingen and his heirs, which they tried to derive from the noble family of the Counts of Beichlingen , which died out in the 16th century . At the end of his life, however, he fell out of favor with Elector Friedrich August I of Saxony because of his eldest son, Wolf Dietrich, who was imprisoned at the Königstein Fortress .

Gottfried Hermann came into possession of the Zschorna estates near Dobra , Dallwitz and Baselitz near Priestewitz . He was first member of the board of trustees in Wurzen and then chamberlain to the Elector of Saxony and was active as court judicial and chamber councilor before he became president of the senior consistory and court judge in Leipzig.

After Friedrich August took over the affairs of state in Electoral Saxony in 1694 after the death of his brother Johann Georg IV , he forced the senior consistorial president to resign from this office. The reason for this was the fact that Beichlingen approved the bigamy of his brother in the so-called Neitschütz affair , advocated the repudiation of his ecclesiastical wife and Friedrich August's expulsion from the throne.

After the Counts of Beichlingen had completely fallen out of favor at the electoral court in 1703, the elector, by ordinance of May 13, 1709, had the sons of the deceased six years previously "released" and renewed their claims to the old property.

Gottfried Hermann married Perpetua Margaretha von Lüttichau (1636–1680) on April 24, 1664, the daughter of Wolf Siegfried von Lüttichau auf Zschorna and Baßlitz, Imperial Councilor and Reichspfennigmeister of the Upper and Lower Saxony District as well as Chancellor, Privy Councilor and Chamberlain of the Elector of Saxony. His wife died on April 21, 1680 and was buried on May 16 in Dresden .

As children, the marriage resulted in:
