Gustav of Gemmingen

Gustav von Gemmingen (born October 19, 1813 in Treschklingen ; † April 30, 1894 in Stuttgart ) was the Imperial and Royal Rittmeister and landlord in Bürg , Treschklingen, Rappenau , Hoffenheim and Adersbach.

Life

He was the second son of Sigmund von Gemmingen-Hornberg zu Treschklingen (1777–1843) and Charlotte von Gemmingen-Hornberg (1785–1842). He attended the Lyceum in Mannheim and joined the kk Feldjäger battalion as a lieutenant in 1831 , then joined the cuirassier regiment EH Franz von Modena, where he was first lieutenant in 1838 and captain in 1843 . For health reasons he was retired from the military in 1847.

After the death of his father he inherited his property in Bürg, after the death of his brother Franz Karl von Gemmingen (1806–1867) also his property in Rappenau.

family

His first marriage was from 1845 to Maria Jakubowska (1824-1856). The son Sigmund Otto (1851–1928), who came from this connection, founded the American branch of the Barons of Gemmingen. In his second marriage, Gustav married Franziska von Mourat (1837–1933) in Regensburg in 1868. From this marriage comes the son Gustav Sigmund Reinhard (1871-1943), who inherited the parental property.
