Hack Simpson
Charles Harold "Hack" Simpson (born December 7, 1909 in Winnipeg , Manitoba , † March 1978 in Montréal , Québec ) was a Canadian ice hockey player . At the Olympic Winter Games in 1932 , he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.
Career
Hack Simpson began his career as a hockey player with the Winnipeg Pilgrims, for which he was active in the Winnipeg Junior Hockey League from 1927 to 1929. In the 1929/30 season he played for the junior team of the University of Manitoba . In the 1930/31 season he won the Allan Cup , the Canadian amateur championship, with the Winnipeg Hockey Club . At the 1932 Winter Games, he represented Canada with the Winnipeg Hockey Club. Following the tournament, he played for the Windsor Bulldogs from the International Hockey League and the Castors de Québec from the Canadian-American Hockey League . Most recently, he ran in 14 games for the Montreal Royals from the Quebec Senior Hockey League. In 2004 he was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.
International
For Canada Simpson took part in the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , where he won the gold medal with his team.
