Hagalunds IS is a Swedish sports club from Solna . The soccer team played three seasons in the second highest Swedish league in their history.

history

Hagalunds IS was founded in March 1906 under the name Solna IS . In 1923 the club gave itself its current name. Initially, the team played under-class, before they qualified for the national league system in 1930 and took part in the third-class division 3 Östsvenska . After the team was relegated in 1934, they established themselves following the resurgence in 1940 in the national championship. After a third place in the first year after the rise behind IFK Lidingö and Årsta SK , she won her third division season in 1942 and rose to the second division after successes against Örtakoloniens IF in the promotion games.

Hagalunds IS played in Division 2 Norra against relegation, but could end the first season in front of Gefle IF , Hofors AIF and Sundbybergs IK on a non-relegation zone. Three wins of the season in the following season were too few to stay in the league , with three points behind Hallstahammars SK , the club rose together with the newcomer Örtakoloniens IF in the third division. With only two defeats this season and 16 wins from 18 games, the club achieved the season victory. In the promotion round, the team outclassed Södra BK , the season winner of Division 3 Östsvenska Norra , after a 5-1 away win with an 11-1 win in the second leg. Again, the level in the second division turned out to be too high, with nine points the club placed at the bottom of the table. The following year, the team fell victim to a league reform when they missed qualifying for the third division and slipped into fourth division despite being runner-up behind Sundbybergs IK in playoffs against IK City .

1954 Hagalunds IS returned to the third division. Right off the bat, the club settled in the front of the table and only narrowly missed promotion to the second division in 1956 as runner-up behind Katrineholms SK and a year later behind Vasalunds IF . Then he slipped into the middle of the table and rose again in 1960. After the immediate promotion, the club again missed relegation. With that, the team said goodbye to higher-class football.

In the 1950 season, the club's ice hockey department took part in the Swedish championship , which was then still held in cup mode .

Stadion

Hagalunds IS initially played its home games on the club's own sports field Hagalunds IP . In 1985 the team moved to the Råsunda IP . Skytteholms IP now serves as the home stadium.
