Hanns Christian Müller (born April 14, 1949 in Munich ) is a German director , screenwriter , songwriter and musician.

Life

After Müller studied psychology , history and philosophy , he trained in directing and acting at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich.

From 1975 Hanns Christian Müller worked at the Schillertheater Berlin. During this time he began working with Gisela Schneeberger and Gerhard Polt , on whose television and stage programs as well as films he worked as an author, director and composer. From 1979 Müller staged the Münchner Kammerspiele at the Munich Residenztheater and at the Münchner Volkstheater, mostly his own pieces, written together with Gerhard Polt.

From 1998 to 1999 Müller was the artistic director of the Munich Volkstheater . Occasionally Müller was in front of the camera himself in his productions, for example in the role of a sound engineer in the 300th Tatort episode ... and the music played too , or as a homeless person in Welcome to Kronstadt .

In all of his theater, stage and film productions, Müller was also responsible for the music. From 1980 to 1995 he produced CDs for Biermösl Blosn . Müller was on various pieces of music from Die Toten Hosen on the albums Kauf MICH! and Opium fürs Volk , including the songs Sascha… an upright German and Ten Little Jägermeister , and directed the music video for the cover version of the song Azzuro from the album Auf dem Kreuzzug ins Glück von den Toten Hosen. Müller released his own album in 1992, entitled Zeit lassn . In the booklet he thanks the Toten Hosen for their “power choir” as support. His first own album, Müller & Co , was released in 1979 and the second album Uns ko nix mehr passiern was released in 1983.

At the end of 2005, Die Toten Hosen toured with Gerhard Polt and Biermösl Blosn through various theaters and opera houses and played the Abvent program under Müller's direction .

A son comes from the relationship with Gisela Schneeberger. The couple separated after 18 years of marriage and divorced in the late 1990s. Müller has a daughter together with the actress Claudia Wipplinger , whom he married in the 2000s.
