Hans-Dieter Schmitz

Hans-Dieter Schmitz (born October 13, 1947 ) is a German handball trainer and former handball player.

Schmitz last coached the Bergisch HC - from December 2009 to May 2012. Before that, he was a coach at TUSEM Essen . With this team he became DHB Cup winner in 1988, German champion in 1989 and won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1989 and EHF Cup Winner in 2005 . From the 2015/16 season he trains the OSC Wölfe Rheinhausen .

Other earlier stations in his career were OSC Rheinhausen , TSV Bayer Dormagen , LTV Wuppertal and OSC Thier Dortmund.

Hans-Dieter Schmitz lives in Moers and is a qualified sports teacher at the Willy Brandt vocational college in Duisburg-Rheinhausen. He is married and has two children.
