Hans-Peter Schauber (born January 11, 1945 ) is a former German soccer player who made nine appearances as a goalkeeper in the German national soccer team of amateurs between 1969 and 1972 .

career

With Rot-Weiss Frankfurt , Hans-Peter Schauber won the championship in the amateur league of Hesse in the 1967/68 season and was promoted to the Regionalliga Süd . With the Brentanobad team , however, he was only able to occupy 18th place in the 1968/69 season and was immediately relegated to the amateur camp. The goalkeeper switched to SC Opel Rüsselsheim after the red-and-white team was relegated and was thus able to stay in the Regionalliga Süd for another year.

On November 22, 1969, Schauber was appointed to the German national soccer team for the first time at the international match in Hagen against Yugoslavia. He guarded the goal behind the defender couple Erhard Ahmann and Hartwig Bleidick in the 2-2 draw. With the Opel team, he made 14 appearances and was unable to oust the goalkeeper Kirsch. For the 1970/71 round he returned to Frankfurt to the Red-Whites. As a player in the Hessenliga , he played eight games with the amateur national team of the DFB in the next two years . The Africa tour with the DFB at the turn of 1970/71 turned into a special experience. He played in three games against Togo, Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone in the goal of DFB coach Jupp Derwall's team and also celebrated his 26th birthday in Africa on January 11, 1971.

His ninth and last international match in the amateur national team played Schauber on January 5, 1972 in Dublin against Ireland. Hans-Jürgen Bradler ( VfL Bochum ), Günther Wienhold ( Eintracht Frankfurt ) and Jürgen Muche from 1. FC Saarbrücken passed the goalkeeper from the Hesse amateur league in the next few months and thus prevented his participation in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.
