Hans-Stephan Martin

Hans-Stephan Martin (born December 20, 1967 in Schierling , Bavaria; † December 8, 2006 ) was a German church musician.

After graduating from high school with the Regensburger Domspatzen , where he sang both as a boy and as a male voice under Georg Ratzinger , he studied at the church music school in Regensburg with Roland Büchner (successor to Ratzinger since 1994) choral conducting and with Eberhard Kraus organ. He completed this course with the A-exam before becoming a church musician in Augsburg. In 1992 Martin returned to his former school, where he worked as a choir director and voice coach until his death. His successor was Kathrin Giehl in May 2007 . He also founded and directed the Donaustauf Chamber Choir, which focuses on baroque music.
