Hans Anthon Lynge

Hans Anthon Lynge (born July 9, 1945 in Qullissat ) is a Greenlandic writer , translator , teacher and screenwriter .

Life

Hans Anthon Lynge is the son of pastor Christian Lynge (1914–?) And his wife Ane Birgithe Mariane Karen Lyberth (1921–?). His paternal grandfather was the politician Frederik Lynge (1889–1957). On the maternal side, however, he was a grandson of Karl Lyberth (1894–1977). On May 30, 1977, he married the Danish teacher Inge Kvistgaard Sørensen (* 1954).

In 1970 he completed his teacher training at Ilinniarfissuaq . From 1980 to 1984 and from 1987 to 1995 he was chairman of Den Grønlandske Forfatterforening . From 1981 until 1997 he worked as a consultant in the culture and education directorate in Nuuk , before he began to teach at his training center himself. From 1991 to 1995 he was a member of the Media Foundation.

In 1981 he wrote the feature section of the Atuagagdliutit . In 1987 he was co-editor of Folkets grønlandshistorie . In 1998 he was a screenwriter for the film Qaamarngup uummataa ( Danish Lysets hjerte , English Heart of Light ). He wrote his books and poems in Greenlandic , some translated into Danish . He also translated other writers' works into Greenlandic, including Halldór Laxness . He was also an editor for school books . He was nominated for the Literature Prize of the Nordic Council of Ministers for two of his works . In 1999 he received the Greenland Culture Prize .
