Hans Rizzi

Hans Rizzi (born January 3, 1880 in Villach , Carinthia , † November 16, 1968 in Vienna ) was an Austrian economist and civil servant .

Life

A native of Villach Hans Rizzi turned after graduation studies of law , political science and philosophy at the Universities of Vienna , Munich and Heidelberg to. 1904 took place at the University of Vienna's promotion to Dr. iur.

Hans Rizzi subsequently joined the kk Central Statistical Commission . In 1906 he was appointed head of the State Statistical Office for Lower Austria . During the First World War , Hans Rizzi was employed in the food administration, in 1919 he moved to the German-Austrian State Office for Finance . He was a member of the Federal Ministry of Finance that followed in 1920 until 1938, and from 1923 to 1938 he also served as State Commissioner of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank . In 1940 he was retired from the Nazi regime as head of the section .

On May 4, 1945, the non-party Dr. Hans Rizzi was appointed Undersecretary of State in the State Office for Finance in the Renner Provisional Government , which resigned on December 20, 1945. In the same year he was appointed to succeed Eugen Kaniak, who was appointed by the government as the public administrator of the National Bank, as President of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank and remained so until his retirement in 1952.
