Live and act
Hans Well is the ninth of fifteen children of the schoolmaster Hermann Well and his wife Gertraud Well from the village of Günzlhofen near Fürstenfeldbruck . Folk music was given a lot of space in the family . Even as a child and adolescent, he performed with his siblings in inns in the area on various occasions under the guidance of his father.
He studied pedagogy with German and history, among others with Helmut Zöpfl . According to his own statement, "he escaped the teaching life" and instead teamed up with his brothers Christoph and Michael in 1976 to form a music group called Biermösl Blosn . This group combined melodies of Bavarian folk music with profound and satirical texts in Bavarian dialect . The musicians built statements on the political conditions in Bavaria into their program and soon became well-known across the region. They first attracted nationwide attention in 1981 as a result of a political uproar when, after the mass arrests in Nuremberg , they asked the responsible ministers in a song at the traditional Maibock in the Hofbräuhaus : "[...] drink it up and take it to Huat!"
After the Biermösl Blosn broke up in January 2012 after 35 years, Hans Well joins his children Sarah (* November 22, 1991), Tabea (* February 23, 1993) and Jonas (* August 24, 1996) Well in a new formation as Hans Well & die Wellbappn . The first CD of Wellbappn entitled under bayern over bayern appeared in April 2013. In October 2015, the second CD came fast out .
In April 2013 Hans Well published the book 35 Years of Biermösl Blosn .
In 2017, Hans Well and Wellbappn were awarded the “Unterföhringer Mohr” audience award.
In 2019 he performed with the Wellbappn at Lieder auf Banz .
