Harald Ambros
Harald Ambros (born March 19, 1980 in Linz ) is an Austrian eventing rider .
Life
Ambros was born in Linz as the second eldest son of a car dealership and grew up with his four siblings in Allerheiligen im Mühlkreis . He studied dentistry and did his doctorate there. After a year of practice in a dental clinic, he plans to open his own practice.
Athletic career
Ambros has been riding since he was six years old, initially for leisure purposes. In 1995 he passed the license test on his first competition horse, Nimmerdor, and subsequently took part in the first eventing competitions. As early as 1995 he took second place at the Austrian junior championship of eventing in Aspang . In connection with his sporting activity, he is an army athlete in the Austrian Armed Forces . This was followed by an Upper Austrian junior regional champion in 1997 and an Upper Austrian junior regional champion in 1998, an Upper Austrian regional champion in the general class and in 2001 a third place at the Austrian state championship in eventing in 2001 in Feldbach .
In 2001 he surprisingly became the European Young Rider Champion in Iserlohn and thus the first European champion in the history of eventing in Austria.
Ambro's trainers included Christian Stelzl, Fritz Gaulhofer and Eugen Schädler in dressage , Manfred Bauern and Bernhard Maier in show jumping, and Horst Karsten in eventing .

- 2009 European Championship in Fontainebleau , 10th place with Quick
- 2010 World Championships in Lexington , as the only Austrian in 28th place with Quick
- 2012 Olympic Games 2012 , participant in London with O-Feltiz
- 2019 European Championships in Luhmühlen : 39th place in the individual ranking with Lexicon and 10th place with the Austrian team
