Harm Kuipers (born November 22, 1947 in Norg , Drenthe ) is a former Dutch speed skater .

After winning the silver medal at the all- around world championship in 1974, Kuipers became world champion in Oslo in 1975 .

Kuipers studied medicine at the University of Groningen at the same time as his speed skating career. He therefore decided not to take part in the 1972 Olympic Games.

Kuipers has worked as a medical advisor for the ISU since 2000 . From 2000 to 2003 he was also employed at WADA . He is also a member of the medical commission at the IOC .
