Sigurd Mathisen (born April 26, 1884 in Kristiania ; † March 4, 1919 ) was a Norwegian speed skater .

Sigurd Mathisen was an older brother of the later speed skating legend Oscar Mathisen . In 1904 he became world champion in all-around in Kristiania . Originally, Peter Sinnerud had won the title, but was disqualified because he was denied amateur status.

In 1908 Mathisen improved the world record over 500 meters to 44.4 seconds. Johan Vikander did this in the same competition . The record lasted four years until his brother Oscar Mathisen broke it.
