Heinrich Aigner (* 25. May 1924 in Ebrach ; † 24. March 1988 in Amberg ) was a German politician of the CSU .

education and profession

After attending secondary school in Amberg, Aigner was initially a soldier in World War II (last rank: lieutenant ). After the war, Aigner studied law in Erlangen . In 1954 he received his doctorate as Dr. jur. at the University of Erlangen with the work investigations into the offense of abortion on the basis of the judicial files of the district court district of Amberg from 1925-1950 . In the same year he entered the public service as a government councilor.

Political party

Aigner was a member of the CSU. In the 1950s he was district chairman of the Junge Union (JU) in Amberg, and from 1954 to 1959 he was also deputy state chairman of the JU in Bavaria .

MP

Aigner was a member of the German Bundestag from 1957 to 1980 . He has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the constituency of Amberg - Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate .

Aigner was a member of the European Parliament from November 29, 1961 until his death . From 1979 on he was chairman of the Committee on Budgetary Control.

Honors

On June 5, 1968, Aigner was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit . In 1976 he was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany , and in 1986 the Great Cross of Merit; also in 1986 he was awarded the Luxembourg Order of Commandeur dans l'Ordre Grand-Ducal de la Couronne de Chêne . As a curator of the German-Brazilian Society , he was also awarded the Rio Branco Order .
