Hendrik Völzke

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hendrik Völzke (born March 22, 1975 ) is a German football player .

Völzke played at SC Vahr in his youth and joined Werder Bremen in 1994 . As a contract amateur , the defensive player came on March 1, 1997 in a home game against VfB Stuttgart with a score of 2: 1 after 83 minutes for Andreas Herzog for his only Bundesliga appearance. The outnumbered Bremer had to accept the equalizer shortly before the end. After the 1997/98 season he left Bremen and went to the regional league club VfB Oldenburg . After a year that ended with 9th place in the final table, Völzke moved to league competitor VfB Lübeck .

With Lübeck he finished 2nd and 3rd in the following two seasons and thus narrowly missed promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga twice . In his second season with Lübeck he only came to the first team at the beginning of the season. After a car accident in October 2000, in which he suffered a concussion and cuts on his left leg, he was no longer able to assert himself in the regional league team and moved to the top division FC Schönberg 95 for the 2001/02 season . He remained loyal to the club until 2007, even after relegation to the association league in 2004/05, when the immediate resurgence could be celebrated in the following season. In 2002 and 2004 he won the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Cup with the club . After the 2006/07 season, when FC Schönberg withdrew from the league due to financial difficulties, Völzke also left the club and moved to Hamburg's upper division Altona 93 .

At Altona 93 he quickly became a regular and leading player and played a major role in the club's rise to the Regionalliga Nord .
