Henning Schmidtke
Henning Schmidtke (born February 3, 1970 in Northeim ) is a German cabaret artist , musician and author . In his stage program he alternates between songs and verbal contributions in the style of the traditional stand-up. Rap and other musical forms are also part of his repertoire.
Life
Henning Schmidtke grew up in Hattorf am Harz and attended the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Gymnasium in Herzberg am Harz , which he graduated from high school in 1989. Schmidtke studied German and English in Göttingen . During this time he played bar piano and founded bands with different musical directions. For several years he wrote articles and essays for the TagesSatz , a street magazine for the Kassel / Göttingen area. Schmidtke toured Romania in 2002 with the chanson rock band “Schneemann”, financed by the Foreign Office. Since 2004 he has been an exclusively small artist, musician and author. He writes and composes for colleagues like Hennes Bender (“Excited”) and Instructor Schmidt (“He came, saw and roared”). Henning Schmidtke initially appeared under the name "Kelvin von der Musikpolizei". The “Musikpolizei” program consisted largely of famous rock songs, which he presented on the piano in a wide variety of styles. For this he received the Bochum Cabaret Prize 2004.
From 2001 to 2010 he accompanied improv theater groups as a musician. At improv theater festivals he also provided the soundtrack for Canadian groups such as The Crumbs, Scratch and Rapid Fire. He also accompanied the first German improv show with puppets by Martin Reinl (Wiwaldi, Zimmer frei WDR), "Pfoten hoch!" Together with Ramona Schukraft , Henning Schmidtke produces radio comedy for the children's editorial offices of the public broadcaster, for example the radio play series "Jimmy Böndchen", on WDR , NDR and BR . He also produced various comedy contributions for the ARD's Long Radio Night for Children. Schmidtke has been producing the interview podcast "Schön Reden" since 2011. 3sat showed excerpts from his program No Wumme, No Cry .

Television and radio
Henning Schmidtke made his first TV appearances in the Cologne laundromat Nightwash . Further appearances in cabaret formats and satirical radio shows followed.
Since January 2013 Schmidtke can be seen as a cabaret artist in the program “Berlin Politix” on ZDFinfo. It processes current political events in the form of 2-minute clips that are shown at the end of each program.
