Hohenöllen is a municipality in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Lauterecken-Wolfstein association.

geography

The place is located on a high plateau above the Lautertal in the North Palatinate Bergland . Heinzenhausen is in the northwest , Einöllen in the southeast and Wolfstein to the southwest . The Sulzhof residential area also belongs to Hohenöllen .

Hohenöllen was first mentioned in a document in the middle of the 12th century.

Municipal council

The municipal council in Hohenöllen consists of eight council members, who were elected by a majority vote in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , and the honorary local mayor as chairman.

Hans-Jürgen Reule became the local mayor of Hohenöllen on February 6, 2017. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was confirmed in his office for another five years with 81.54% of the votes. His predecessor Erich Wannenmacher, who had held the office for 32 years, resigned on September 30, 2016 for health reasons.

Economy and Infrastructure

Federal highway 270 runs to the west . In Heinzenhausen is a station of the Lautertalbahn .
