Holsa is an East Timorese Suco in the Maliana administrative office ( Bobonaro municipality ).

Before the 2015 regional reform, Holsa had an area of ​​8.28 km². Now it is 7.30 km². The Suco is in the center of the Maliana Administration Office. To the north lies the Suco Odomau , east Lahomea , south and west Tapo / Memo . The river Biupira, shortly afterwards called Sasso , has its source in the Suco and finally flows into the Lale on the northwestern border . This flows over the Nunura into the Lóis .

The municipal capital Maliana extends from Lahomea into the Suco. The villages of Sucos Holsa belong to its settlement center or its suburbs. These are Oplegul , Ramaskora , Rokon and Solugolo ( Solu Golo ). The overland road leading west from Maliana follows Holsa’s northern border. She goes over the Lale over a bridge. There are several primary schools in the Suco.

In Holsa are the six Aldeias Bilicou , Lolooa , Oplegul , Secar , Solugolo and Tas .

Residents

4,972 people (2015) live in the Suco Holsa, of which 2,472 are men and 2,500 women. The population density is 680.8 inhabitants / km². There are 863 households in the Suco. Over 90% of the population name Tetum Prasa as their mother tongue. Over 5% speak Bunak and a small minority speak Kemak .

In the 2004/2005 elections , António Santa Cruz was elected Chefe de Suco and confirmed in his office in 2009 and 2016 .
