Horace Elgin Dodge ( May 17, 1868 - December 10, 1920 ) was an American automobile manufacturer .

Life

Horace Elgin Dodge and his brother John Francis Dodge jointly invented the first all-steel car in the United States . They helped Henry Ford build his factory and built their first car, called the Dodge, in Detroit , Michigan in 1914 .

He died of the Spanish flu at the age of 52 .
