action

Filmmaker and amateur cyclist Fogel wants to take doping drugs while training for the Haute Route amateur cycle race . He wants to find out if he can get through the anti-doping tests . He will initially be advised by Don Catlin , the founder of the UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory. However, since he fears for his reputation, he thinks his participation in this experiment is not a good idea and recommends Fogel, Grigori Rodchenkov , the head of the Russian anti-doping program, to contact. With Rodchenkov's help, Fogel begins injecting hormones and creating urine samples that will later be used for testing.

Fogel and Rodtschenkow become friends. During his experiment, Fogel reveals that Rodchenkov had his own system in Russia to help Russian athletes with performance-enhancing drugs without attracting attention. News suddenly reported that Rodchenkov was said to have been a key figure in the Russian state-sponsored doping program during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Rodchenkov now fears for his life and fled to the United States. Rodchenkov's testimony comes public in an extensive interview with the New York Times by providing hard drives, emails, and more incriminating evidence of Russian involvement. Concerned for his well-being, the United States Department of Justice accepts Rodchenkov in the witness protection program.
