Ingrid Pankraz (* October 28, 1948 in Gommern as Ingrid Windisch ) is a former German local politician ( SED , PDS ) and holds a doctorate in economics . In February 1990 she was Lord Mayor of East Berlin for a few days .

Life

Pankraz grew up in Gommern with two siblings; Her father worked, among other things, as a chief accountant at a construction company and led his daughter's training in a similar direction after she initially wanted to be a waitress . From 1955 to 1965 she attended the Polytechnic Oberschule in Gommern and then completed vocational training as a wholesale merchant until 1968 , during which she also obtained the Abitur. Pankraz began to work in 1975 as a senior member of the Berlin District Planning Commission. In January 1979 she was promoted to head of the investment coordination department and in October 1987 first deputy chairman of the district planning commission. On March 31, 1989 she was elected as a member of the magistrate of Berlin and confirmed as deputy mayor and chairwoman of the district planning commission (successor to Wolfgang Doll ), which she renamed the office for regional development in 1990.
