The Irmscher automotive GmbH & Co. KG is a German car tuners and automobile manufacturer based in Remshalden . The company was founded in 1968 by rally driver Günther Irmscher (1937–1996).

Tuning

Irmscher has specialized in the customization and tuning of vehicles since 1968. This includes add-on parts such as spoilers, side skirts and the like, as well as rims and interior design made of high-quality materials (wood, aluminum, etc.), such as. B. steering wheels, console cladding, gear knob to details such as the door pins or the pedals. Irmscher also offers performance enhancements and exhaust systems.

Since 2004 Irmscher has also been offering conversion solutions and accessories for Peugeot models as well as for Kia models. Irmscher also works in the truck sector and offers complete conversions for trucks.

In the anniversary year 2018, Irmscher celebrates the production anniversary of the 500,000th vehicle converted by Irmscher. It is a special edition limited to 68 pieces, the Irmscher Vivaro Liner 68. The Irmscher Van Systems division deals with the conversion and expansion of truck solutions.

In addition to the special series and tuning business, Irmscher is involved in automobile racing in rally events and touring car championships.

The sporting commitment of the Irmscher company goes back to 1965. That year, company founder Günther Irmscher sen. the then German Touring Car Championship on an NSU Prinz TT . Just two years later, the company founder also won the Tour d'Europe Rally on the same vehicle model.

During this time, the company established its reputation with racing and rally versions of Opel production vehicles and created the partnership with the Opel automotive group that still exists today.

Drivers like the two-time rally world champion Walter Röhrl or Jochi Kleint , Achim Warmbold and Sepp Haider were able to enter their names in rally vehicles from Irmscher on the winners' lists of numerous national and international rallies.

vehicle construction

Irmscher has been building a self-made product based on the Lotus Seven since 1993 and markets it under its own brand name. Initially, the vehicle had the model name Seventy Seven . Since 2010 it has been called the Irmscher Roadster. A four-cylinder Opel engine with either 115 hp or 150 hp provides the drive . An Opel Turbo engine with 240 to 284 hp is also installed.

In 1989 Irmscher presented an Irmscher GT, which was equipped with a 3.6-liter engine and was to be marketed as a 2 + 2-seater as a sports coupe.

In 2002 the company presented the Inspiro model at the Geneva Motor Show . The roadster with V6 engine from the Opel Omega remained a one-off.

In 2008 Irmscher presented an Irmscher GT with a V8 engine.

In 2011, a purely electrically powered variant of the Irmscher Roadster with the name Irmscher "Selektra" was presented at the Geneva Motor Show.
