Isidore Lillian

Isidore Lillian (* 7. September 1882 in Rzeszow , Galicia , † 27. August 1960 in New York ) was an American entertainer , playwright and composer for Yiddish music and film music .

Lillian was born into a poor family and emigrated to the United States of America at the age of ten . At sixteen he joined an actors' association and a year later worked in a Yiddish vaudeville house, an entertainment theater . There he was involved both as an actor and as a writer for short one- to three-act entertainment pieces. From 1905 he began his full-time work as an author for stage plays.

His work from the 1910s to the 1950s includes numerous stage and musical pieces.
