Status: end of career

Jörg Hahnel (born January 11, 1982 in Erlabrunn ) is a German soccer player . The goalkeeper spent the first 19 years of his sporting career in the Erzgebirge , where he made it into the 2nd Bundesliga with FC Erzgebirge Aue . In the further course of his career Hahnel played for Hansa Rostock in each of the three German professional leagues.

Career

Beginnings in the Ore Mountains

Hahnel began his career at the age of five with the local club "SV Eisen Erla-Crandorf", but in 1993 he switched to the neighboring FC Erzgebirge Aue as a youth player . From July 2000, he was part of the men's teams in Aues and played a total of 18 regional and 36 second division games in the following five seasons . Hahnel was only the goalkeeper of his team in the 2003/04 season , while he mostly acted as a substitute goalkeeper in the remaining seasons. In the 2005/06 season Hahnel could no longer prevail against his goalkeeper competitor Tomasz Bobel , which is why he was only used in a second division game and in the first round of the DFB Cup . He then moved to the 2006/07 season within the second division for FC Hansa Rostock .

Hahnel at Hansa Rostock

In Rostock Hahnel first was during the second division season 2006/07 after Mathias Schober , then at the beginning Premiership season 2007/08 behind Stefan Wächter as substitute goalkeeper the professional team, he that only few inserts for the reserve team Hansas in the fourth division Oberliga Northeast completed . It was only when Wächter was unavailable for health reasons at the end of 2007 that Hahnel made his debut for Hansa in the Bundesliga on December 9, 2007, which he lost 3-0 to Bayer 04 Leverkusen . Despite Wächer's recovery, Hahnel was also used on the following match day, when he did not concede a goal against VfL Bochum .

After the subsequent winter break, coach Frank Pagelsdorf again designated Wächter as the regular goalkeeper, so that Hahnel was once again used in the reserve team. At the end of the season, Wächter sustained a protracted injury, which resulted in Hahnel playing four more Bundesliga appearances. However, the team could no longer prevent the threatened relegation. In the second division season 2008/09 Hahnel was able to establish himself as a regular goalkeeper and completed all 34 league games over the full season. But instead of playing for direct promotion, the team under Dieter Eilts , who was appointed as the new coach in November 2008, was even in renewed danger of relegation. Rostock was also able to secure relegation on the last day of the match through another coaching change to Andreas Zachhuber .

For the following season 2009/10 Hansa signed a new goalkeeper Alexander Walke , but Hahnel extended his contract in Rostock a short time later until 2013. In the course of the season, Zachhuber only used Walke as a goalkeeper, so that Hahnel again in the reserve team was used, which was playing in the fourth-class regional league at that time . At the end of the season, Rostock's professional team rose to the third division for the first time in the club's history , despite the renewed coaching change to Thomas Finck and Marco Kostmann . Both Walke's and Hahnel's contracts with FC Hansa lost their validity; in contrast to Walke, however, Hahnel remained in the club.

In the third division plans of the new coach Peter Vollmann , Hahnel, who has now signed a new contract with a term until 2012, was again designated as the goalkeeper. After he initially assumed this position, Hahnel injured himself in the course of the season and was then replaced by Kevin Müller , who only moved up from the youth teams in the summer , and who initially remained in the Hansa-Tor even after Hahnel's recovery. After the winter break, Hahnel became a regular player again and only had to relinquish this role to the younger Müller after he had been promoted back to the table in order to allow this match practice. In the last game of the season, however, Hahnel was again in the goal of the Rostock team, for which he also played the final of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Cup , which ended with the title win . As a result of the rise he had achieved, Hahnel's contract was automatically extended to 2013.

In the 2011/12 season , Hahnel lost his regular place in the Hansa goal to Kevin Müller, so that he only came to additional missions for the Hansa reserve team in the fifth-class league. Even after the club was threatened with relegation again in the course of the season and therefore replaced coach Vollmann with Wolfgang Wolf , Müller initially remained the goalkeeper. After a temporary injury to Müller, Wolf finally relied on the more experienced Hahnel again at the end of March 2012, who thus made seven appearances in the final phase of the season. Ultimately, Hansa's relegation to the third division was already certain from the penultimate match day. As a result, Hahnel's contract with Hansa again lost its validity, but soon afterwards he signed a new contract with a term until 2014. Compared to the competition in the form of Kevin Müller and Johannes Brinkies , Hahnel was unable to earn a regular place, so that he in the course of completed only two missions in the 2012/13 season .

In the summer of 2013, Müller left FC Hansa and Hahnel was scheduled to be No. 1 in the Hansa goal for the following 2013/14 season . He stood between the posts on the first match day against Holstein Kiel , but got the red card after an hour, was replaced by Johannes Brinkies and then suspended for two games. After the suspension had expired, coach Andreas Bergmann left Brinkies in the box and Hahnel had to go to the bench. After several mistakes by Brinkies, Hahnel was given preference again on matchday 18 and remained No. 1 until the end of the season. After the season, his contract was extended for another year with an option. On January 7, 2015 it was announced that the contract had been terminated by mutual agreement and that Jörg Hahnel had ended his professional career.

Hahnel at Schönberg 95

On January 22, 2015, Jörg Hahnel moved to FC Schönberg 95 in the Oberliga Nordost with immediate effect . The change was made because the previous goalkeeper Denis Klassen was injured. Hahnel played all 15 second round matches and was second in the table with Schönberg at the end of the season and rose to the regional league . There he received 31 league appearances. Relegation was achieved and in the state cup he reached the final, but failed there in a penalty shoot-out against Hansa Rostock. He got another 30 missions in the following season 2016/17 . In the table, the 11th place in the table was achieved, but Schönberg withdrew from the regional league to the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regional league for financial reasons . Hahnel's involvement in Schönberg then ended.

Rostocker FC

For the 2017/18 season he moved to the sixth division Rostocker FC . At the traditional club, there was a very special constellation, because Hahnel's stepson Julian also joined the RFC. Together with the team, they reached the quarter-finals in the state cup, which was lost 2-0 to FC Mecklenburg Schwerin , and at the end of the season they took 4th place in the league. Hahnel was in goal in 28 games. He scored his first competitive goal of his football career on the 3rd match day against Gnoiener SV. Hahnel scored in the 89th minute to make the final score 2: 3. In that season, the 35-year-old Hahnel not only acted as a keeper, but also as an assistant coach for the first time in his sporting career . He thus supported head coach Axel Rietentiet .

Hansa Rostock II

In the city, Jörg Hahnel, and also stepson Julian, were drawn to the league for FC Hansa Rostock II in the 2018/19 season . In order to maintain match practice, the club sometimes relocated players from the professional team to the reserve. Hahnel played with third division players again on the first day of the match. Hahnel played thirteen games that season, his last, and ended his active career afterwards. However, he will remain with FC Hansa Rostock as the coordinator for the sporting orientation of the U-15 to U-12. On September 20, 2019, Hahnel played again for Hansa II - his last official game to date.
