Jörg Lutz (2018)

Jörg Lutz (born May 10, 1963 in Calw ) is a German lawyer and an independent local politician who has been Lord Mayor of the city of Lörrach since October 1, 2014 . From 1999 to 2014 he was mayor of the municipality of Grenzach-Wyhlen .

Life

education

After graduating from high school in 1982 at Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium Leonberg , Lutz completed his community service in the district hospital in Leonberg from 1982 to 1984 . From 1984 to 1989 he studied law at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and did his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Stuttgart in the following years . A post abroad led him to a law firm in San Francisco .

Career and mayor of Grenzach-Wyhlen

From 1993 to 1995 he was legal advisor to the administration and municipal supervision in the district office of Lörrach . After taking parental leave , he was head of social affairs in the Lörrach district from 1996 to 1999. In 1999 he was elected mayor of the Grenzach-Wyhlen community and was confirmed in this office in 2007. In 2009 he was awarded the Theodor Heuss Medal for exemplary citizen dialogue in the implementation of the local Agenda 21.

Lord Mayor of Loerrach

After the incumbent Lord Mayor of Lörrach , Gudrun Heute-Bluhm, announced her resignation at the beginning of 2014 , Lutz, supported by the Lörrach SPD , stood for election along with four other candidates. In the first ballot on July 6, 2014, Jörg Lutz won 40.9% and was thus well ahead of his competitors, the incumbent Mayor Michael Wilke (32.2%), Ulrich Lusche (25.4%) and Jens Peters (0 , 8%) and Klaus Springer (0.6%). In the second ballot on July 20, 2014, he prevailed with 64.4% against Wilke with 34.6%. He was sworn in on October 2, 2014 in the office of Lord Mayor of Lörrach; He officially took up his post on October 1, 2014.

Jörg Lutz is married and has two daughters.
