Jan Bártů (born January 16, 1955 in Prague ) is a former Czechoslovak pentathlete .

Life

Bártů was part of the Czechoslovak squad for the first time at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal . With 5466 points he won the bronze medal in the individual competition , with the team, which also included Jiří Adam and Bohumil Starnovský , he won silver. 1980 Bártů also took part in the games in Moscow . In the individual , he finished 16th, with the team he was sixth.

His father Karel Bártů was also a pentathlete who had participated in the 1948 Olympic Games .
