Jason Adasiewicz

Jason Adasiewicz (* 14. October 1977 in Crystal Lake , Illinois ) is an American jazz - vibraphonist and composer .

Live and act

Adasiewicz studied jazz drums at DePaul College and played in big bands . After leaving school, he switched to the vibraphone and initially played in rock clubs in the Chicago area with various bands and with the singer-songwriter Edith Frost . In the early 2000s he began working with cornetist Josh Berman and drummer Mike Reed ; since then he has worked in the Chicago jazz and improvisation scene, a. a. with Harris Eisenstadt , Guillermo Gregorio , Fred Lonberg-Holm , Rob Mazurek , Nicole Mitchell , Jason Ajemian and Ken Vandermark. In 2008 he formed a trio with Mike Reed and Nate McBride ; In 2009 he released the album Sun Rooms on Delmark Records , which featured Adasiewicz's compositions and tributes to Sun Ra , Duke Ellington and the forgotten pianist Hasaan Ibn Ali (who worked with Max Roach in 1964 ).
