Jean Yanne

Jean Yanne , real name: Jean Roger Gouyé (born July 18, 1933 in Les Lilas , Département Seine , † 23 May 2003 in Morsains , Département Marne ), was a French actor , director and screenwriter.

Life

The young Jean Gouyé began working as a journalist before joining Yves Robert 's theater company to become a comedian and eventually an actor.

Jean Yanne was seen alongside many greats in French cinema, such as Stéphane Audran and Catherine Deneuve , and soon one of them himself. He won the Actor Award at the Cannes International Film Festival in 1972 and shot until shortly before his death. However , he was unable to complete his last film Atomik Circus - Le retour de James Bataille because he died during the shooting. Its role was taken over by Jean-Pierre Marielle and the film received a dedication to the deceased at the beginning of the credits. As an actor, he has appeared in around 100 film and television productions. As a director, he was responsible for seven films from 1972 to 1985, in which he was also involved in the script development. He also worked as a film producer.

The actor was married to the French actress Mimi Coutelier since 1975 .
