Jens Bürkle (born October 14, 1980 ) is a German handball trainer and former handball player . His playing position was circular .

Career

Jens Bürkle started at TV Oeffingen in his youth. From the A-Jugend he played for TV Bittenfeld until 2001 . Then he moved to the second division TV Kornwestheim . Since 2005 he has been under contract with the first division club HBW Balingen-Weilstetten . He shared the position at the circle with Wolfgang Strobel . He played a total of 179 Bundesliga games and scored 277 goals.

After the 2011/12 season he left the HBW Balingen-Weilstetten and took over the coaching position at the third division club DJK Rimpar , with whom he rose to the second division in 2013.

In 2014, Bürkle was voted coach of the season by the coaches and managers of the second division teams .

After the 2014/15 season, Bürkle left DJK Rimpar and moved to the first division club TSV Hannover-Burgdorf . After the 2016/17 season, Hannover-Burgdorf parted ways with Bürkle. In October 2017 he took over the second division HBW Balingen-Weilstetten. Under his leadership, Balingen rose to the Bundesliga in 2019.
