Jens Wonneberger (born May 3, 1960 in Großröhrsdorf ) is a German writer .

Life

Jens Wonneberger grew up in Ohorn, Saxony . From 1980 to 1985 studied it Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Dresden . He then worked in research, but from 1986 was forced to carry out various other activities. In addition, literary texts were created. Wonneberger has been editor of the Dresden city ​​magazine SAX since 1992 .

Wonneberger is the author of novels , short stories , poems and non-fiction books on the literary history of Saxony . He is a member of the PEN Center Germany and the Independent Writers Association Dresden (ASSO). In 1995, 1999 and 2002 he received grants from the Saxon Ministry for Science and Art , and in 2010 he was awarded the Literature Prize of the Saxon State Ministry for Science and Art .

Wonneberger lives in Dresden .

His novel Mission Pflaumenbaum is one of the 20 books nominated for the German Book Prize 2020 (so-called longlist).
