Jessica Boehrs (* 5. March 1980 in Magdeburg ) is a German dance pop - singer , television presenter and actress .

Life

Beginnings

Jessica Boehrs began working as an actress in 1993 at the age of 13. First she played minor roles in television series and television films. In 1996 she made her first steps in the music business as JessVaness , including as a background singer for Caught in the Act and Tic Tac Toe . She was only moderately successful at first and moved her activities to the studio. Among other things, she sang the chorus of Laura .

Music career as Novaspace

In 2002 she met the Stuttgart music producer Felix Gauder, and Novaspace was founded. The first single Time After Time , originally by Cyndi Lauper , immediately reached number 6 in the German charts . Further cover versions followed. On January 6, 2003, the first album Supernova was released .

The song Beds Are Burning became the most successful in Novaspace's career. The hit So Lonely was released in the US but flopped on the Billboard charts.

On June 2, 2006, the third album DJ Edition was released. In January 2008 it was announced that a new singer was being sought for the Novaspace project, who was found in Jenny Marsala .

Movie and TV

Since the age of 13, Boehrs played roles in television series and films such as Die Wagenfelds , Der Bulle von Tölz , Die Wache , SOKO 5113 and Die Rote Meile . In 2003, she took over the role of Melanie Neuhaus in the ARD - soap opera Marienhof . In the same year she got a role in the Dreamworks production Eurotrip . In the comedy she played Mieke , Scott's German pen pal - whom he mistook for a man ("Mike").
