Jindřichov (German Hennersdorf ) is a municipality with around 1500 inhabitants in Okres Bruntál ( Freudenthal ), Czech Republic .

Geographical location

The village is located ten kilometers east of Zlaté Hory ( Zuckmantel ) in the north of the Czech Republic and extends in the valley of the Petrovický creek ( Petersbach ) parallel to the Polish border in an east-west direction. The state road 457 from Zlaté Hory to Osoblaha runs through Jindřichov . To the northeast is the border crossing to Poland Bartultovice - Trzebina ( Bartelsdorf-Kunzendorf ). The cadastral area of the municipality is 3470 hectares.

history

Henrikestorp was first mentioned in a document in 1256; later it was called Heynerichsdorf . The establishment of Hennersdorf took place as part of the settlement of the inner parts of the country of Bohemia and Moravia with immigrants from Franconia , Thuringia and Saxony. The rule of Hennersdorf was a fief of the bishops of Olomouc from 1250 to 1635 . The feudal estates were acquired in 1635 for 39,000 guilders from Freiherr Georg Maximilian von Hoditz, who was raised to the rank of imperial count in 1641. After about a hundred years the possessions fell back to the liege lord, the Bishop of Olomouc. This sold Hennersdorf in 1739 to the baron Johann Christoph von Bartenstein , with whose descendants it remained until 1866. In 1868 Albert Ritter von Klein bought the goods in Hennersdorf for 310,000 guilders. In 1945 the family of the barons von Klein-Wisenberg was the last German owner of the Hennersdorf estate.

On October 4, 1844, there was a major fire in the village. In 1869 a post office was opened in Hennersdorf. In the same year the former parish school was nationalized. In 1872 the railway line from Röwersdorf via Hennersdorf to Ziegenhals was built . The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1885.

Until 1918 Hennersdorf belonged to Austrian Silesia or Austria-Hungary and to the political district of Jägerndorf . In 1900 the population was 2936. The end of the First World War brought the break-up of the Austro-Hungarian multi-ethnic state and the establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1918 . Hennersdorf and its almost exclusively German-Austrian population became part of Czechoslovakia.

In 1919 the construction of the first electricity supply for the village began. In 1920 the citizen school (Realschule) opened. A school and kindergarten were built for the Czech minority in 1923. From 1927 to 1931 the village was fully electrified. In the Munich Agreement in 1938, Czechoslovakia had to cede large parts of its national territory to the German Reich. This also included Jindřichov, who from then on called itself Hennersdorf again. The last municipal elections in Jindřichov on 22./29. May 1938 gave over 90 percent of the votes for the Sudeten German Party . On October 6, 1938, German troops entered Hennersdorf; the place became part of the district Jägerndorf until 1945 . Due to the Beneš decrees and the decisions at the Potsdam Conference , the expulsion of the German population from Jindřichov began on August 13, 1945. By February 1946, almost all Germans had left the village.
