Musical beginnings

John Martin was born in Stockholm and started playing the guitar at the age of 13 . Shortly afterwards he founded a band with a few friends. Together they played cover songs for the grunge band Nirvana . Together they performed in bars in Stockholm. They received a record deal after several live performances. But after less success, her contract was terminated. Although they continued to have successful live performances, the group split.

Since 2010: solo career

In 2010 he met the songwriter and producer Michel Zitron. Together they produced their own songs until he was rediscovered by the also Swedish DJ Axwell , who was part of the Swedish House Mafia . Together they then recorded the song Save the World with him. It was released as a single on May 13, 2011 and made it into the charts almost worldwide and also reached the top 40 in Germany. It was also a top 10 hit in England and reached number 10 on the hit list.

Together with Michel Zitron, he wrote a vocal version of Avicii's song Penguin for Andreas Moe . With the title Fade Into Darkness the song was released in summer 2011 as a download . Like Save the World , the song rose to number 4 on the Swedish charts.

After this success, the Swedish House Mafia released another single with him. It is called Don't You Worry Child and was released just one year later on September 14, 2012, shortly after the Swedish House Mafia split up. The song reached the top 10 of several charts, including number 9 in Germany, number 1 in Great Britain and Sweden and number 6 in the USA. It became his biggest hit to date.

In 2013 he recorded the song You & I with Max Enforce . However, the project was terminated before publication. Also in 2013 he sang a vocal version of Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash's song Reload . The title became his third top 10 hit in the UK and Sweden, and a huge hit in Germany and Switzerland.

On February 12, 2014, John Martin released the solo single Anywhere For You . The song was produced by the Swedish DJ Alesso . Also in 2014, a song recorded in collaboration with French DJ and producer David Guetta appeared on the Internet. At the same time, a picture appeared showing the two musicians in the studio. The release of the song has been withheld for the time being. After Martin created an acoustic version of the song on YouTube, a new version produced by the Swedish DJ and producer Style of Eye was released under the title Love Louder .

In 2015 he contributed the vocals of the song In My Blood by Alesso, which was included on his studio album Forever . He also wrote the song Together with singer Ella Eyre , which was released as a single on May 17, 2015 and was included on Eyre's studio album Feline .

In March 2016, Martin Garrix released the song Now That I've Found You , the vocals of which Martin contributed together with the Swedish songwriter and producer Michel Zitron.

On July 27, 2018, he founded the music project Vcation together with Michel Zitron. The duo's debut single was titled Lay Low . The single When We Went Gold followed on September 21, 2018 . Whiskey and Cola was released in January 2019. On September 27, 2019, the single Never Alone was released in collaboration with the German DJ and producer Felix Jaehn and the Dutch DJ Mesto .
