Jolene Purdy (* 9. December 1983 in Torrance or Redondo Beach , California as Jolene Purdy Aiko ) is an American actress .

life and career

Jolene Purdy was born in December 1983 in Torrance , and according to other sources in Redondo Beach , both in California , and grew up there. She is half Japanese and has two younger sisters. While attending Redondo Union High School, she took acting classes and appeared in various musicals at the school. She was a member of a children's choir and took part in a production of the musical Evita at the South Bay Civic Light Opera. After graduating from high school , she took on the role of narrator on an Aladdin live show at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim . Her first role was in 2001 as Cherita Chen in Richard Kelly's directorial debut Donnie Darko , which later became a cult film . After guest appearances on the two television series Boston Public (2001) and Just In Case Amy (2002), she took a break from acting.

In 2008 she starred alongside Jerry O'Connell and Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Molly Poleski in the sitcom Do Not Disturb , which was discontinued after five episodes produced - three of which were broadcast. In 2009 and 2010 she was in a recurring role as Mandella in the youth series 10 things I hate about you of the cable network ABC Family to see. The series is based on the 1999 film of the same name , in which the role of Mandella was played by Susan May Pratt . Purdy played another leading role from 2010 to 2011 in the youth comedy series Gigantic as Piper Katins , the friend of the main character Anna Moore ( Grace Gummer ). In addition to two guest roles in Breaking Bad (2010) and Raising Hope (2012), she also starred in the first three episodes of the third season of Glee in 2011 .

2013 she took over in the first season of CBS - science fiction series Under the Dome , on the same in the original novel, The Arena of Stephen King based, the main role of Dodee Weaver .
