Josef Bordat

Josef Bordat (born April 20, 1972 ) is a German philosopher and publicist .

Life

Bordat grew up in Straelen on the Lower Rhine. After graduating from the Friedrich-Spee-Gymnasium Geldern in 1991 , he studied industrial engineering (graduate engineer 2000) as well as sociology and philosophy ( Magister Artium 2004) at the Technical University of Berlin and the Universidad Nacional de San Agustín in Arequipa (Peru). From 1997 to 2001 he worked in the private sector. In 2006 he started at the Institute for Philosophy, Philosophy of Science, and the History of Science and Technology at the Technical University of Berlin with a dissertation on Justice and Benevolence. The international law concept of Bartolomé de Las Casas for Dr. phil. PhD.

He was co-editor of the International Journal of the Humanities (Melbourne) and editor of the Marburg Forum . From 2011 to 2014 he was a post-doc at the Institute for Social Anthropology at the Free University of Berlin . Bordat has been a freelance writer for the Catholic weekly newspaper Die Tagespost , among others, since the 2000s . From 2017 to 2019 he worked as an editor for this newspaper. Bordat has been working as a journalist for a law firm in Cologne since November 2019 . Since 2013 he has published a total of four books with Lepanto Verlag . Bordat also runs the Catholic weblog JoBos Blog (previously Jobo72 ).

Bordat is Catholic and lives in Berlin-Lichterfelde , where he is involved in the Mater Dolorosa community . He is married to a Peruvian woman and volunteers in the Archdiocese of Berlin .
