Josef Rose

Josef Rose (born March 16, 1943 in Trautenau ) is a German handball trainer and former handball player .

After the expulsion ("Odsun") from the Sudetenland , Josef Rose moved with his family to the island of Usedom in 1946 . Here he began with the sport of handball, first in school, then at Einheit Ahlbeck / Heringsdorf. In 1953 he was second with this student team at the Pioneer Partakiade in Berlin. Kurt Assmann made it possible for him to do a trial training at ASK Vorwärts Berlin, which he was called up to join the National People's Army as an athlete. In 1969 he followed ASK Vorwärts after moving to Frankfurt (Oder) and played for ASK Vorwärts Frankfurt , where he played until 1977.

The 1.76 meter tall Josef Rose was 96 times in the handball national team of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). He played at Olympia in 1972 and was at the World Cup (World Cup) in 1970 and the 1974 World Cup, each vice-champion.

From 2005 to 2008 he coached the A-Juniors of ESV Frankfurt / Oder.
