Joseph Kastenbauer

Joseph Rudolf Kastenbauer (born July 6, 1945 in Schwäbisch Hall ) is a German doctor and dentist .

Kastenbauer attended a humanistic high school in Burghausen in the Altötting district and studied medicine and dentistry in Munich and Erlangen . In 1971 he received his doctorate as Dr. med. and Dr. med. dent. and received his license to practice medicine as a dentist, and the following year as a doctor. His professional career began as an assistant at the University Clinic of Oral Surgery in Erlangen and in several independent practices. In 1973 he set up his own practice in Altötting .

In 1988 he was given a teaching position at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich for professional dentistry and the history of medicine, especially dentistry . In 1977 he became a member of the Academy Practice and Science , from 1984 to 1990 he was a member of the board of directors. He was also a member of the German Society for Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine , the International College of Dentists , the State and Administrative Committee of Bavarian Medical Care and, from 1994, its chairman in the State Committee. From 1990 to 2001 he was President of the Bavarian State Dental Association (BLZK), and in 1992 Vice President of the Association of Liberal Professions in Bavaria (VFB). He was also a member of the board of the German Dental Association (BZÄK), 1992 to 1994 Chairman of the Board of the German Dental Association (BZÄK), and was a member of the Bavarian State Health Council and the Health Forum of the Süddeutsche Zeitung . From 1986 to 1992 he was an honorary judge at the Munich Finance Court .

At the beginning of 1998 he became a member of the Bavarian Senate , from which he resigned on March 31 of the same year after a referendum had abolished the Senate. During this time he was a board member of the Bavarian State Foundation . From 1999 to 2018 he was Honorary Consul of the Republic of Togo / West Africa . In 2010 he was appointed honorary professor at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, Faculty of Medicine.
