Josh Singer (* 1972 ) is an American screenwriter.

Life

Before working as a screenwriter, Josh Singer studied at Harvard Law School and worked for McKinsey & Company . He gained his first experience in the film business with internships a. a. in the television division of Walt Disney .

His first position as a screenwriter was the television series The West Wing - In the Center of Power . From 2003 he was part of the team of authors there. Singer then remained focused on television until the 2010s. In 2013, Inside Wikileaks - The Fifth Force, the first feature film based on one of his scripts was released.

Working on Spotlight earned him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay with Tom McCarthy , a Golden Globe nomination in the same category , the National Society of Film Critics Award , the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, and more Prices. In 2015 they won the Boston Society of Film Critics Award for best screenplay .
