Cabinet Moro I.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Moro I cabinet ruled Italy from December 4, 1963 to July 22, 1964. Before that, the Leone I cabinet ruled , then the Moro II cabinet . The government of Prime Minister Aldo Moro was supported by the following parties in parliament:

It was the first center-left government since the United States forced the expulsion of the Communist Party of Italy in 1947. Moro's governments were almost always suspected by Italy's allies of being too left-leaning and of cooperating with it later to want to enter into a so-called historical compromise with the communists.

The Moro I cabinet ended because of a coalition dispute over private schools, tax policy and regional planning issues.
