Kachtenhausen is a district of the Lippe town of Lage in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until it was incorporated into Lage on January 1, 1970, Kachtenhausen was an independent municipality in the Lemgo district .

The district is located in the far west of the urban area and borders the city of Oerlinghausen. It is 10 kilometers to the district town of Detmold and about 20 kilometers to Bielefeld.

Protected areas

Northeast of Kachtenhausen extends the 20 hectare large nature reserve " Grutt- and Sunderbach ".

history

On April 1, 1957, the former community Wellentrup lost parts of the area to the new community Helpup , which also incorporated the former communities Mackenbruch and Währentrup . On December 11, 1963, the community of Wellentrup was renamed Kachtenhausen .

religion

The majority of the village is evangelical reformed and celebrates services in the Johanneskirche .

music

The men's choir Frohsinn exists with 150 singers.

The "Akkordeon-Asse-Lage" orchestra is also at home here

Sports

The TuS Kachtenhausen has more than 1,500 members of the largest sports club in position, which also aligns the oats stream with about 150 participants annually.

Public facilities

The Kachtenhausen fire brigade belongs to the volunteer fire brigade in Lage. The comrades have an ELW 1 , a small tank fire engine (KTLF), a TLF 16/25 , a SW 2000-TR as well as a Dekon P for decontamination of people.

Regular events

Every two years the Midsummer Night organized by the associations takes place in Kachtenhausen, which is also known as the village festival.

Furthermore, the TuS Kachtenhausen organizes annual events such as the Easter fire, which is organized together with the youth fire brigade Lage Gruppe Kachtenhausen, the terrace festival or the May dance in the multi-purpose hall.

The carnival department in the men's choir (MGV) "Frohsinn" Kachtenhausen organizes the grand ceremonial meeting every second Saturday in January. Furthermore, the children's carnival is celebrated in February and a costume party on the Saturday before Rose Monday.
